Monthly Expenses

New Hope School employs ten dedicated teachers who have graciously accepted a reduced salary of 180,000 shillings per month, equivalent to $50. While this amount is significantly below the standard teacher wage, these educators are committed to New Hope’s mission and understand the current financial constraints.

Monthly expIn addition, New Hope employs a cook and a security guard, both of whom earn a monthly wage of 100,000 shillings, or $30.

The food costs, which include the firewood required for cooking, amount to 12,000,000 schillings, or $325 per month. The meals primarily consist of staples such as posho, cassava flour, and beans.  When funds allow, we add meat or poultry to the meals.

The monthly supply expenses, which include books, pens, caulk, paper, and wall charts, can vary considerably based on the subjects being taught and the funds currently available. On average, these costs total approximately 185,000 schillings, or $50 each month.

Additionally, there are numerous fluctuating expenses, including healthcare, clothing, miscellaneous repair costs, and government-mandated fees.

Your generous support can make a direct impact on these essential monthly expenses. We invite you to consider contributing to sustain the vital operations of New Hope School.
